for your information, stuy was rated number 3 in the country. bronx science was ranked number 1, followed by townsend harris.

take into account the requirements to get in and how many ppl get in too though

I retook my SATs and got: M: 800!! CR: 720 W: 680
hope that helps my chances

of course it does!

I visited Union and Siena two days ago. I like Siena better.

sterlingsilver...our SAT scores are nearly identical... damn writing section...lol best of luck!
and yeah, siena does look nice.

do you think he can get into the rutgers md/ba program?

sars: who, sterlingsilver or ivybound?

both are extremely competitive applicants, but rutgers ba/md is pretty ridiculous to get into....not because of the qualifications needed, but the sheer number of qualified applicants. I go to an NJ school, and there are 5 (myself included) of us who are applying to the ba/md program, and all five have 1510+, 3.8+, great ec's, etc...and that's just from 1 public highschool in nj...rutgers takes like 22 or something like that...so chances are pretty slim for mostly everybody, unless you've got a 2400, 28094802840928402843908 hrs of volunteering, 4.0, etc etc

heh, I'm applying to rutgers sighs

I've got an updated list (I'll go crazy if I change this list again):
Siena, Case, Union, TCNJ, Stony Brook, Rutgers, Lehigh, NJIT, Drexel, Drew, Brooklyn, and Sophie Davis

i think njit and rutgers deadline is already gone

case, rutgers, lehigh, drexel are done...tcnj is january 1st, siena, union, njit, drew brooklyn and sophie davis i have no idea

I got accepted into Union/Albany Med. Now to figure out a way to afford it...

I hope you guys got in where you wanted to go!

Be completely honest! Thanks.

My brief stats are:

31 ACT :/
4.24 GPA (unweighted) with all AP classes
Rank 2/484
job shadowing a physician once a week
volunteering at hospital once a week (about 150-200 hrs)
volunteering at hospice twice/3x a week
president of an organ donation group
other EC's are the typical, NHS, SHS, Key Club, Teen Court Program
have had a job for 2 years, 15-20hrs per week

The only programs I have looked at are HPME (not trying out because I didn't take SAT II's), Michigan State's, and Wayne State's (I'm from MIchigan). So if you could let me know what other schools have these programs and chance me, it'd be great. :)

this thread is deaddd!
..anyways..
i guess ill post my stats tooo..(ima junior still_
91. soemthing unweighted…96. something weighted. grades
expected SAT is like 1450/1600
over 200 volunteer hrs. (150+ at hospitals)
gonna get more…
ummm lots of extra curriculars..
-peer leader
-VP of FBLA
-1/4 students selected from our HS for New Jersey Scholars Prog.
umm tough sched. 4 aps this year
more next year.
…well gimme an idea…im really into drexel-nova…but im open for others

ok well
im a senior in HS
i applied to 14 ba/md programs
and so far ive got 7 interviews, no rejections from:
union, villanova, vcu, uab, usa, youngstown, uh/baylor
ive been accepted to youngstown states ba/md also
first of all, the way i see it
you need to have a lot of medical experience
not just a little bit…A LOT
im guessing you heard back on your psat scores
did you make what you think will be natl merit for ur state?
i got a 222 and thats enough for TX (cutoff was 216)
i go to Debakey HS for Health Professions in Houston so we go to rotations in the medical center every other day
i think that is so important in my applications
150 hours is not enough.
especially if you are aiming for only a 1450/1600 on the sat
you need to get atleast 500
try to do research too
im not sure where you live or wtvr, but research is also very important
i did a summer of research at baylor college of medicine so that helped too
just respond back for any other tips

thank you. yeah im gonna try and get more volunteer hours in.
my psat score was horrendous
198
=p
btw…how do you approch research at a university? i live in NJ…im thinking rutgers might be good for research.

The PSAT score means ****. I got a 194 and I ended up with a 36 on my ACT and 800/750 on two SAT IIs. Yes, I didn’t even make National Merit semifinalist, but there’s more than that score.

um…my gpa is 3.68 unweighted 3.8 weighted. my psat was 205. do i have ANY chance of getting into a BS/MD program?

Dai Dai, What is hospice? thanks
