Take act after high school?

I graduated from high school in june. I scored a 21 on my act but didn't bother to take the written exam. Now that I am trying to apply for University of Texas-Austin they require the written exam. Can I take the act after I graduated from high school?

You can definitely take the ACT after you graduate- it's just uncommon because not many kids graduate, wait a year for college, and then attend some institution of higher learning. The last time I checked, UT Austin changed its standards prior to your graduation year, so you will have to retake it.

Will you be a TRANSFER applicant or a freshman applicant?

I am going to be a freshman applicant.
