Okay. I'm going into 9th grade, and I really screwed up in math this year. So essentially I had been reccomended for Algebra II, and then stayed up all night and slept through the placement test landing me in algebra I CP (however there is no honors). No retake (It's against school policy, so assuming I receive a 4.0 unweighted (I guess) every year, can I get into say MIT (even though this would leave me with taking precalc 2 senior year.

My other question is, could I go to say summer school every year to make up for it, or an acredited online highschool (tell me if you know of any)

So in this case I could go:
Algebra Freshmen Year
Geometry Summer of freshmen year (Honors, or AP if possible not sure)
Algebra 2 Sophmore Year H/WT
Precalc 1 Summer of Sophmore Year (H/wt) or AP
AP Calc BC AP/WT. Junior Year

So in this case I would be done with all math and could do other things senior year. So esentially I also need a lot more info on online highschools and acreditation (Moderator please move this thread as needed) if that does not happen tell me where this should go

Also please assume with the first question everything is honors and a 2000 on sat scores

Worry more about, idk, girls at your age. You have plenty of time for college angst.

For MIT, you’re going to need to aim much higher than 2000 on the SAT. Think like 2250+, preferably 2300+. But you have a couple years before you need to worry about that ;)

And definitely, definitely do what you can to make sure you’re finished with AP Calc BC by the time you graduate. I’d check out Florida Virtual School if you’re looking for a place to take online classes.

Not knowing your grades, rank, ECs, etc. I can’t give you your chances of acceptance-- but it’s definitely possible, especially if you manage to obtain a 4.0 unweighted GPA.

Okay, so in terms of accreditation will most public high schools accept it as accreditation

Okay, but Florida Virtual school is for florida residents, anything that’s not

You’re a freshman! Just work hard and enjoy high school. Save the college anxiety for when you’re a junior. Just pursue the most difficult courses, but at the same time, take what YOU want to take; don’t just enroll in classes or join clubs you think will impress admissions officers. You’re a person with likes and dislikes just like anyone else–that’s what admissions officers want to see: a hard working student who pursues things for his or her own pleasure, not to suck up to some hazy figures sitting in a board room five hundred miles away.

Seriously can I take classes over the summer in jersey?
