Take another look at your schedule

I was just looking again at D’s schedule for the fall and noticed that the building had changed for her section of Math 145. When she signed up at Bama Bound it was listed as being in Gordon Palmer, now it’s in the Biology Building.

On another class, it looks like the ending time has changed from what was originally listed. That’s a good thing, because now she will have time for lunch and won’t have to rush across campus!

Now I know to check periodically throughout the summer to make sure things are what we think they are.

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow…it’s rare for a time to change, but an earlier end-time is certainly a good thing!!!

Buildings do occasionally change (but that’s rare, too). I guess if they need to add seats and need a room with more space, a building change may occur.

The time of the class was 11:00-12:50 TR now it’s 11:00-12:15 TR and still listed as three credit hours.

Really? because DSs Math145 is 4 credit hours…

Honors Calculus I - MATH 145 - 001 Associated Term: Fall 2010
CRN: 40887
Credits: 4.000
Class 9:00 am - 9:50 am MTWR Biology 205
Class 6:30 pm - 7:50 pm T Biology 205

some of the classes say you must sign up for one from (for example) 001 - 004 and one from 005 - 016.

The location change was for Math 145. The time change was another class SW 155.

^
makes sense now!

another scheduling question - can’t believe I missed this. Are there for-credit classes in phys. ed. areas? ie. swimming, golf etc.? If so, what category are they under?

Yup. KIN-Kinesiology. D originally had a few bookmarked but those darn upperclassmen snagged them ;)

^^^

Yes, there are, but they’re likely all full now.

They are KIN 101-170 (or so)

*The time of the class was 11:00-12:50 TR now it’s 11:00-12:15 TR and still listed as three credit hours. *

If it’s a 3 credit lecture class then the original time was a mistake.

YEP look under kinesology. My son got a weight lifting class. I saw swimmimg!

Thanks!
Saw that Intermediate swimming is still available! Looks like it might be cutting it too close to get to his next class though - but something to look in to :)

My son added volleyball because a junior friend (female) wanted him to take it with her! He figured it was a GREAT way to meet girls!

i took PE for probably 6 semesters! i think it is fun!

Keep in mind that if the class is held at the rec center, you need to have a good amount of time to get to another class in the main part of the campus (especially if you’ll need to shower and change after the activity.).

ThanksMom of only 1…I will watch the schedule. We thought we were all set but…will monitor now, with your head’s up.

Class times shouldn’t change. The time change that was mentioned (the shortening of a class), was simply because the wrong end time had been put in. That shouldn’t happen very often.

A classroom change can occasionally happen (again, not often), but typically only if there’s a big demand for a class section and the section can be moved to a larger room to accommodate a few more kids. Of course, that can usually only happen if another course in another room has less kids signed up and can switch rooms and give up its bigger room.
