Take AP Physics C and Honors Physics at the Same Time?

I am a Junior right now but have to start choosing my classes for next year.
I am taking AP Chemistry right now, but have never taken any Physics class previously. This is why I need to take it next year.
I am taking Honors for sure, but am trying to decide for my last class, AP Stats or AP Physics C Mechanics.
My math class this year is Pre-Calculus and next year will be AP Calculus AB.

I want to go into engineering, so Physics is a must. I feel like taking the AP Physics C class will be beneficial for when I take the college class as it will make it a bit easier.
Everyone thinks I’m crazy though, is the workload of the two Physics classes combined way too much? Is it worse than taking like AP Bio and AP Physics at the same time?

Wouldn’t the two classes complement each other?

Thank you for your time!

There’s a reason that no one takes Honors Chem and AP Chem at the same time.

Same goes for Physics.

They’ll complement each other in the same way Precalc and Calc complement each other–as a SERIES, not concurrent.

But I’ve been told my multiple people taking AP Physics that it is barely crossing over with Honors Physics

There’s no reason to take both. Just take the Physics C. It will be tougher than AP chem but doing physics honors would be a waste of time.

That makes it even worse.

You need the foundation for C. Honors is that foundation. The things at the end of honors? You’ll probably have already struggled through them in AP, where most if not all other people will have had a basic understanding already.

Yes That is completely true. I will probably just take the Honors class and suck it up when I take the Physics class in college. I think I will just pair up the honors physics with AP Bio instead. Thank you for your perspective!
