Take both old and new SATs

I am currently a junior and I signed up to take the old SAT in January and the new SAT in March, but now I'm not sure if I should take both. Should I just take the new SAT?

Depends. Are you good at analogies? Quantitative comparisons?

Or are you better at reading passages? Slightly harder math?

The old SAT will probably need an SAT II writing with it, but since you're taking the new, you should be fine.

If you're willing to prep for the old SAT, go for it - although personally, I'd rather concentrate just on the new SAT.

I'm taking both, took the old today. I didn't prep at all, but plan to for the new one. I hear some colleges will take your math/verbal from old or new, whichever is higher, and combine it with your Writing score from the New. So I figure the current version is a pretty good safety net.

Is it okay to take two old SAT 1's and take the two highest subscores and then take two new SAT 1's and take the highest subscores for this test as well? How many is too many? Are ols SAT 1's regarded separatedly from the new SAt 1's?
