Take chances with 3.44 or apply after summer?

I'm going to apply to COLA for Econ, my current GPA is 3.44. I want to be an early bird and apply now but i also would rather boost it up to a 3.5, that would require me to apply in August. I don't know if it makes a difference, but does it matter if i apply in August rather than now?

Anybody have any input on this?

does it change your class rank?

Well i’ll be transferring from a jr. college. I’ just don’t know if i should apply right now with a 3.44 or wait until August with a possible 3.5+

ohhh it might change something! i’m not sure though /:

Well i mean do i have good chances to the COLA with a 3.44?

I think you should take your chances and apply. Keep in mind, UT has a holistic approach to admitting transfer students. If you have solid extracurriculars and experience on your resume and great essays you should have no problem getting in with a 3.44.

Hmmm, the deadline for Spring 2012 admission isn’t until October 1, so why would you apply now? I would definitely wait until August on the theory I am going to do something very worthwhile with my summer that can only help my chance of admission, whether it is taking classes and improving my GPA, working, doing an internship, etc.
