<p>Yup, true story.</p>
<p>Harvard students and MIT students (graduate and undergraduate) are pretty free to take classes at both campuses. The issue is usually logistical -- the two schools don't have the same academic calendar, and of course you have to plan your daily schedule to allow for travel time between the two campuses.</p>
<p>MIT has a rule that students cannot take more than half their registration at another school; I'm not sure if that rule exists at Harvard or not.</p>
<p>Yes; not just engineering classes but other classes as well. And the inverse is also true. An MIT undergrad raved about Harvard classes he was taking during an admission info session.</p>
