I need to choose my classes for my senior year next year.

I'm conflicted over whether I should take journalism or another AP class (i.e AP Psychology or AP comp sci). Next year will be my first time taking journalism class, so I will probably just be a staff writer (not an editor).

Do you think taking an AP class instead and possibly boosting my GPA is a better choice? I was hoping journalism class would boost my resume?

I think I’ll be okay with both. I just hate busy work (I heard AP psych has loads of busy work) but I think journalism will too. I’m just curious whether one year of journalism as a staff writer would help me transcript/resume-wise for college.

Journalism is seriously a stupid class. You produce like 5 newspaper which nobody reads. If you want to write that badly, just go to bleacherreport.com and write about sports. You’ll get ten times as many reads as you would at school.

hahahaha yeah i figured that no one would read the newspapers but would it actually make me look better in college apps than AP psych? I mean if I want college credit I can always self study that class. I heard AP psych is one of the easiest to self study for. I just need better “extra curriculars” and I’m in no position to drive out and find a local newspaper to volunteer for.
