Take New SAT March 12??

I am a junior, and will therefore have to take the new SAT. I currently have a 1550 (800M 750V) on the old SAT and a 800 Writing SAT II from January. Should I take the March 12 test of the new SAT? I think that my Writing score was just a fluke, and my 1550 is a result of intense preparation for 10 days prior to the test last May. Would it be better if I hold off on taking it till May/June? That way, I will have at least spring break to massively study. What should I do?

First of all...WOW, 1550! You did a stellar job on the SAT I as well as with the SAT II Writing. You should be proud of those Ivy League caliber scores. :D

Well, according to popular rumor on CC, the March 12 test will have a more lenient curve since it's the first administration of the New SAT. But if you are leery of rumors, than I strongly suggest you hold off on taking it until May/June because you would have additional time to prep for it.

Keep this in mind if you're taking a bunch of AP's: the May SAT test date is on the Saturday in between the two weeks of AP testing, so that could be rough.

Yeah, thats why I was thinking May would be good for SAT II's such as Phys and Chem (already took IIC), cuz I'm in AP of those right now.

I'm taking them in March because April is the final stretch for AP exams (plus baseball) and May is the AP testing plus SAT II's (but they're easier since its just an hour or two)
