Is there anyone who take SAT2 chem without taking AP chem? Will that be so hard for me?

I took it after honors chem. I mostly self-studied from Barron's and other review books (my teacher was horrible-told us wrong info, etc) and got a 720. If you are taking AP Chem in junior year or earlier, I would wait. Otherwise, take it after your last course of chemistry.

I also took the chem SAT II without AP Chem. If you study from a prep book ahead of time, like I did, you should be fine. However, make sure to give yourself enough time to study some topics you might have just glanced over or skipped entirely during school.

SAT II Chem is a little different from Honors Chem, but the concepts not covered in Honors are very easy to learn and they don't go into much depth.

i took reg. chem in 10th grade and just winged the SATII, I think I didn't bomb.so it can't be that bad

We have no honors courses at our school but my son took two years of hs chem, which is weighted. He is now in AP chem and they do not appear to be covering anything this semester that he does not already know.

One of my kids took Honors Chem as his first and only high school chem class, took SAT II at end of year, scored 780 (maybe 790? I forget).

Other kid took Honors Chem, took SAT II at end of year and scored 710. She is taking AP Chem now. If she had known for sure at the end of soph year that she was going to take AP Chem, she would have waited to take the test til end of AP. That seems like the most sensible option to me.

i took honors chem and took the sat II, got a 660 (which is pretty good for my standards). it was pretty much like my final. i pretty much learned everything that was on there, but i'm not that good at sat II. there were other kids in my class that got in the 700+ range. also, my chem teacher took like the last week and a half to go over the barrons book with us. that helped a lot.

no, i took ap chem and it didn't help me on the sat II. the sat and ap exam are two very different tests. if i didn't have an sat prep book, I wouldn't have done well on the sat.

its fine to take the sat after honors

All Subject Tests were/are designed to be taken after a rigorous college prep high school course. AP is not needed. OTOH, if you will be taking AP Chem in Jr year, its better to wait until then.
