As a junior next year, I will be taking a course called Chemistry II (Our school doesn't offer AP sciences). I talked with the teacher and she said that we would be covering only some of what is on the AP Chemistry exam. Is it worth it for me to self-study on my own and risk a lower score rather than not take the test at all?

If you like the subject, then you can buy an AP review book and score very well.

I would advise you to self-study for the exam. Find threads with good chemistry books and prep advice. I'm taking AP Chem next year as a senior. My friend took it as Junior and said it was easy. (We're about same intelligence.) IF you are getting a B in ur chemistry II class, then don't take it.

DON'T SELF STUDY CHEMISTRY. Do any other subject but chemistry, it's hell without a decent ap teacher, even if you get the best text books and review books (princeton is best for chem), you won't do that hot. It's suicide.

Well I know that my Chemistry Teacher teaches college chemistry during the summer, but she's just not certified to teach AP. Would having her help me on what to study along with the book be the right path to a good score? I also scored low A's during Chem I so expect the same in Chem II.
