I took the SAT in january 2009 and got a 500 on the cr which put me in a 45 percentile. When i took it, i was doing random guessing, was stressed, and just didnt do well. Well, i payed a grand to kaplan and did this intense online class, i mean i studied HOURS in addition to the online classes and i took the december SAT for the 2nd time and i felt confident, didnt reall guess, applied techniques. AND I GOT THE SAME EXACT SCORE in CR. NO CHANGE. What makes me want to get a score confirmation is that, not only was the score the same after intense stuying non stop, the national percentile was exactly the same.

My question is that , is it possible that they could have made an error in having a duplicate cr score show up for my december SAT and my january one from early 2009? Should i risk pay for a hand graded? Im thinking that i should wait until the 29th to get a full score report and if it shows my multiple choice with the same number of correct, then i should question? It just amazed me in a horrible way that this could of happened.

Definitely wait until your score report comes in… College Board isn’t stupid enough to mix up one of your old scores with your new one…

However, I am actually not that surprised that your score didn’t improve. From what I’ve experienced, self study is usually better and more ideal for the SAT than taking classes (which usually over charge you when you could just spend 50$ on a couple of books).

umm…did you take practice tests beforehand? did you actually improve on your practice tests? and i mean ones from collegeboard, not ones from kaplan.

no i didnt take any collegeboard practice tests which was a mistake thinking about it. But i took countless kaplan practice tests and, they even showed me my trend. i improved by hundreds of points. i dont know about other people but im definitely dissapointed in it.

Guys: PLEASE HELP ME. Im in a similar situation.

Took the December 2009 SAT. But after test realized that some sections were filled in with a #2.5 pencil and some sections with a #2. I dont think their scantron machines pick up #2.5

Later, I went through the whole math section with my friend, and we both confirmed after a thorough review that we each got only 1 question wrong. His score: 790. My Score:750. I absolutely refuse to believe that I might have gotten 2 wrong or 3 wrong, I was sure of every single question there.

Also, last time i got a 760 on writing, (75MC,10E) but this time i got a 690 (63MC,11)??? I find it hard to believe that I got a 63MC subscore. I took many many prac test (CB, PR, etc…) got 800M, 750+ writing and ~700CR consistently. I don’t know what to do. please help.

pennhopefull: are you absolutely CERTAIN you went through each and EVERY question with your friend? i HIGHLY doubt that. look at the SAT discussion threads here on CC that people eagerly flock to after taking the test; even with the combined effort of the nation’s brightest there are some questions missing. even if you did (which i must reiterate…i HIGHLY doubt) maybe you made an error in what you put/what you thought you put. and PLUS the difference between a 750 and 790 on math is only but 1-2 questions. dont waste your money.

dont know what to say about the writing section though…
maybe you screwed up. in this other thread i read just right now this girl decreased from 800 to 690.
