Take the test?

Well..I'm taking ap us history. And I don't think I'll do well on the exam unless I study like crazy and I don't want to study like crazy for such a pointless test. As long as I make an A for the year, that's all that really matters. A) I do not generally like history B)history has absolutely nothing to do with my intended major
By the looks of it..if I'm suffering in a rigorous program in school, I don't know if I'll actually do well. Some people say I'll do okay cuz I've worked with it so much in school. Some say if I'm (or anyone else really) not generally good at history, I shouldn't take it. And some say it's possible to get a good score on ANY test, if I study like crazy. So..should I just do a practice exam and see how I do and go from there? I'm sure at least one of you have been in this situation before..taking the AP class, but not liking/enjoying the class..so did you take the test?

I have read numerous times that colleges expect to see that you took the AP exam. Otherwise, they can't assess how rigorous your course was and if you learned the material. It looks like you are just trying to make your transcript look good if you take the course and not the AP exam. I think you should take the test. You should be able to at least get a 3, which is good enough, even though it won't get you credit at most colleges.

Alright thanks for the tip. I'll see how I do on a practice test..maybe I actually learned something this year.
