what would be really helpful for math and science classes would be a textbook divided into chapters. each chapter would have the formulas needed to complete the problems in the chapter and then have alot of practice problems. so basicaly the textbook would be alot smaller more like the size of a chapter book but then it would have lots of examples and problems to do.

I'm a junior in highschool right now, and I have a hard copy as well as a disk copy for each of my textbooks. Some kids who have laptops find the disk copy nice (not to mention ctrl+f is really useful!), but the few times I have used the disk at home I've gotten a major headache - and it is easier to find something (like a diagram) if you are not exactly sure where it is with a hard copy.

The zipper thing is interesting, but I can see myself loosing half a textbook in a few days. Not to mention most of my teachers don't like to announce lesson plans ahead of time as they are lazy SOBs :-D. And what good's a textbook without an index/glossary? For math texts, however, this would be very awesome.

i guess the first option
