I’m a junior at a top high school in California and was accepted to USC’s resident honors program for enrollment fall 2017.
However, should I wait next year for Brown PLME, Dartmouth and other BSMD programs? THe USC program is not a bs/md but would allow me to start med school a year early.
Here are my stats
GPA 4.0 uw, 4.8 weighted
Courseload: AP Biology, AP Physics, APUSH, AP Environmental Science, AP Language, AP Psychology, AP Art History
SAT 1560, PSAT 1510, SAT II math level 2 800
ECS: internships in biomedical research from freshman year, competitive paid life science internship last year and this year, provisional patent, first author publication, science fair awards, original research published in national conference, president of multiple clubs including GWC and bone marrow drive, volunteer at arts workshop and free clinic, planning on completing EMT training this summer.
Some downsides to the USC program would be having to complete requirements for graduation this summer
My first choice school would be Brown but that’s a longshot for everyone.
Should I take this or wait a year and see if I have better options?
Thanks!
Have you decided if you are going to attend the USC program? My daughter has also been accepted to the same program and she has been thinking about the same thing. Another factor we are considering is the sky high tuition.
@Michiganjunior Most likely not as I want to try for ivies and BS/MD next year, and I would get half tuition if I applied as a senior with my national merit score. Congrats to your daughter!

contact the dean of the USC admissions office asap, to see if you dont have to wait until next year to receive the NMF 1/2 tuition scholarship . Let them know that USC is your first choice and you have already been admitted to the RH program.
His name is Tim Brunwold and tell him that menloparkmom said to reach out.
