Well I'm currently scoring in the low 1800s on practice tests (cr - 500s, math - 530+, writing - 770+) , am a junior, and could really use some SAT prep help.

Since I last took those practice tests I have been using the Barrons math workbook and ocassionally a blue book practice exam. My weakness is critical reading (scoring just above only 450) so I bought Mcgrawhill's Conquering the Sat Critical reading and Barron's CR Workbook. (ordered these yesterday)

which other one book should i get? if i purchase one more book i can get free shipping on Amazon.com

should I get rocketreview? or barrons 2400? any suggestions? much appreciated

learn VoCAB!!! When one can learn it, work hard for it, it will hopefully pay off in the SAT exam or not atleast in College, take the word lists, flash cards, whate'er and LEARN EM ALL!

wait till the new editions of barrons 2400 and workbooks come out. You don't want outdated books, trust me. They came out around this same time last year. For now, get Up your Score, The Underground Guide to the SAT. It's updated and very helpful.. with good vocab list

just wondering... what did u do to make your writing score so different. It is the most trainable section right? HOW did u train that section?

hmm, I do believe it IS the most trainable section.
i just did A LOT of writing MC practice questions; i've done the "SAT question of the day" everyday for the past year now. The best way to improve I think is to do as many COLLEGEBOARD writing MC questions, and whatever question you miss, read the explanation for why you got it wrong.

also memorizing the "grammar rules" is helpful--i never did that, didn't need to, but basically there are only about 10-14 types of "writing errors" tested on the SAT, so that goes for every SAT. There are prep books out there (McGrawhill especially) that teach you the exact writing grammar you need...and that's all you need. Once you learn the rules you'll be able to identify an error just like that snap

good luck and PM me if you need any more writing help.
