The opposite is true for me - I am more likely to get work done in a 3-hour break between classes than I would if I had the entire afternoon off. (I also never get any school work done on a Saturday because I have too much time...) I think both schedules are manageble. Just go with what feels more comfortable to you.

Keep in mind the scheduling for finals. I would prefer option 2 for a more relaxed feel and it would allow for time between classes for a quick last look at notes before quizzes and exams. Go with what feel right for you.

I can say that my oldest S had a semester similar to option 1. He handled it fine but never again scheduled more than 2 classes back-to-back because of the way his school schedules finals.

actually, for many schools, finals alternate blocks anyway (e.g., 7:30-9:30 Mon final = MWF 8:05-9:30, 11:45-9:45 Mon final = MWF 11:25-12:50...). I would go with option 1 b/c it gets your day done quickly and 1-2 hr breaks are kind of useless, at least for me. I'd end up just wasting the time talking w/ friends every day but then not have enough free time to actually go hang w/ them!

I would do option 1. It seems really nice because you get to do everything in the morning when your mind is fresh. Then once you are done you are dree to do anything you want...get lunch, do homework, take a nap, hang out with friends, party, etc

For me, I'll go with option 3. I'm different, i need break time to retool and refresh what did I just learn plus it's give me time to do homework and study before the test. Remember there's always final. I think you need a hour to review everything before you hit final.

I'd go with option 1... because each class is only 50 minutes each so it'll be nice to get 3 classes done in one go. As someone else said, make sure that you take note of distance from class to class so you can plan accordingly. :) I'm in a similar situation... taking 20 units, and Tuesdays and Thursdays I have two back to back classes which are 1 hr 20 min each, and then an hour break before my last hour and 20 min class. Its definitely doable. :) Good luck!

i'd definitely go with option 1, thats what i did last semester and it worked out well. the thing is, for me anyways, with classes clumped together, it gives less incentive to skip classes.

if i had a break in between classes i would probably nap, and not wake up for my next class.

but if theyre all clumped together, i'm awake and alert, and can knock it out all in one shot.
