Taking 1 or 2 university classes online???

The vast majority of my uni classes have been taken in person, but does it look bad to take 1 or 2 courses online? I mean at a REAL university, not one of those scam for-profit online ones. I'm just looking at classes for next fall and one of the ones I'm interested in is offered online, which would be really convenient for my schedule.

It seems like most universities nowadays from ivy leagues to small state universities offer some courses online. Can someone even see that the class you took was online or not (on your records?)

I’ve taken quite a few courses online at my community college, and no, it did not state on my transcripts that they were online. Theoretically they are supposed to cover the same material as a physical classroom course, but some projects may be modified to fit an online situation.

If the online courses fit your schedule better, then I say go for it. The only time I would suggest thinking it over is if it’s a course that’s difficult to learn online, such as math courses, since in many cases you’d be teaching yourself the material rather than having a professor lecture on it. However, some courses offer video lectures, and professors should still be available for office hours to meet you in person (or chat through e-mail or phone) if you have questions or problems with the material.

If it’s from your university, it’s not a big deal.

No, it won’t look bad. It should appear on your transcript just as a normal class would. But if the course isn’t offered through your university, make sure the credit will still transfer.
