Taking 5 classes second semester of senior year

I listed Track on my application under "2nd semester classes." I also wrote that I "plan to continue in 12th grade" in the Activities section.

However, there's a new coach this year, and I was cut from the track team.

Does it matter whether I take a sixth period during second semester? I'm currently taking 5 AP classes. However, I'm applying to three Ivies.

bump 10char

Track/PE credits wouldn’t be heavily weighted in the admission decision. I don’t think it matters.

unless it was a major activity for you in the past, i doubt it matters.

Even if it was a major activity, I was cut. So that’s outside of my control I think.

I’m wondering whether I should take a sixth period to fill up the empty slot left by track. The available classes don’t appeal to me.

Would colleges care if I only took 5 periods during second semester?

No. They don’t care. I wouldn’t even bother updating them. This just isn’t important enough.

^Thanks for the response.

Bump. I’m just wondering…

If I’m waitlisted, would it matter whether I took a sixth period? (when colleges look at my spring semester grades)

^bump for the above question.

No, it won’t matter. What matters is what you’ve done with your extra time. Use it to accomplish something that furthers your academic and professional interests so when you update them (as anyone on a waiting list should do), you will have something worthwhile to report in addition to more grades.

Im taking five classes both semesters this year and when i asked my college counselor whether i needed to take a sixth or not (i also didnt like the choices) she said it looks much better to ace your five classes and enjoy them, them to maybe not do as great in a unless class for you. i wouldnt be too concerned if you have worked had throughout high school in your courses, as it seems you have, then taking one course isnt going to make or break you

^Thanks for the responses.
