Taking 5 subject tests...I want colleges to see ALL of them!

Hi,

I just got my SAT Subject Test scores for May. I got a 780 on Lit and 770 on US History (I was expecting a 700 and 550 respectively so this is really exciting for me). I'm not a humanities person...definitely more math/sciency but my counselor advised me to take a humanities subject test for college appas so that i'd seem more well-rounded.

however, here's the thing: I took the chem test last year and got a 790. in June, I plan to take math 2c for UC's and MIT or Caltech, and bio (e or m, haven't decided yet). I really WANT to take bio, if not for college, just for myself. i love bio and want to see how well i can do.

i know colleges only look at "your top three scores". so what if i end up with two 800's on bio and math? will they only look at chem, bio, and math? because then my efforts to seem well-rounded will have been in vain. i will come off as just math/sciencey though i want to apply mainly to college of art/sciences and LAC's, not engineering schools.

what should i do? i really want them to see my ush and lit scores...i'm actually more proud of my 770 in ush than my score on any other test ever, lol. a 790 in chem last year was disappointing, but i'm simply ecstatic with this 770 in a subject that is definitely my weakest, and i had to work really hard for it!

and i REALLY want to take bio! just for myself, to see how pro i really am=)

thanks for your help!

Any time you send a school any SAT scores whether SAT I or SAT II, they send ALL scores from all the past 8 dates you've taken your tests. So they will all see the scores. If they only require two they will accept the best of the five, but see all scores. So don't worry, all of your excellent scores will be seen by all schools you apply.

The Common Application has spaces for six SAT Subject Test scores. Any application form that doesn't should have a means by which you can say, "Please see attachment" and attach more self-reported scores. Lots of colleges see lots of scores from some applicants (notably, from homeschooled applicants).

They might not take them into account though, since

If you include them on the application (when there is space), then the admission officer will see them.

2 year old thread, guys

Sorry I hadn’t noticed. Someone had bumped it up to the New Posts.
