so I'm taking CS61A this summer, and because of one spectacularly bad midterm, I'm thinking I might not pass. I already signed up for 61B in the fall, and since 61a is a prereq for that course, can I still take 61B?
if I do fail 61a I fully intend on retaking it in the spring, and I understand the concepts and stuff, but I just happened to do very badly on that midterm.
So are they really strict about enforcing this prereq?

Yeah you can take 61B in the fall. But a better option would be to take 61a in the fall and 61b in the spring. If you don’t pass 61a now, chances are 61b with hilfinger in the fall will only be much much harder.

61a will help you a lot for 61b as well

There’s also the issue that only 61BL is offered in the Spring, not 61B, right? I only bring this up because many people prefer lectures over laboratory time.

Yeah I normally would take 61b in the spring but the waitlist for 61a is like a hundred people long :(

jusst wondering, is a C- considered passing? and even if it is, is that enough to move on to 61b?
