Hi all! I’m currently on my second semester at a community college and hope to apply next fall to transfer into UCI for business admin for 2020 fall. I received a 3.72 gpa from first semester and winter combined. This semester, I’m taking chem, English, anthropology, and calc b. I have a’s in all but a c in calculus and I don’t see myself raising it up. The professor is really difficult to follow. Since I’m applying next fall, should I withdraw or take a c? My gpa would be 3.38 assuming I end with a c in calculus and if I withdraw, I’ll have a 4.0. If I do withdraw, I am planning to take it during the summer and hope to get at least a B. Only reason why I don’t want to withdraw is because I spent so much time and effort into the class so I don’t want it to go to waste, but at the same time i won’t be considered a competitive applicant with my gpa so low. I have a part time job and take care of my grandma which makes me really occupied. I go to school at 9:45 and get home at 10pm since I have work right after class. Then the following day I have a 7 am calc class which is really hard for me. What’s the best choice here? I really want to get into uci. I haven’t taken any Econ, acct, not statistics class yet but I’m planning to finish that next year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
