I was going to take a chemistry with lab course this fall but I have a surgery scheduled for the first week of the semester (lucky me) so I highly doubt that I would get an A in the class missing the first few weeks.

So my plan was to take second eight-week courses and then a few online classes so that I won't fall behind (I'll basically take an extended summer).

Now since science classes w/ labs are all the usual 16-weeks, would it be possible to take the class at the UC during the winter quarter in town and have it count towards my IGETC?

How exactly are you going to take the class at a UC during the winter quarter?

Winter quarter usually starts at the beginning of January and ends in late March. Semester usually starts in mid-late January and ends in mid-late May. In January, you’ll be just as behind taking Chem in either term. In May, you’ll have finished Chem by either method.

So what’s the point of doing this?

Sorry, I didn’t specify: during April I’m going to leave for a month out of the country so I won’t be able to take the class as a semester course.

I could also take it during the fall term since the UC-system usually starts their quarters mid-to-late September, which would be sufficient time for recovery.

But how would I “do this” on IGETC?
