Taking a class that I skipped with AP score

If I originally skipped Calculus A with AP score, would taking the course after completing the calculus series count towards my gpa? I tagged to UC Davis and they require a 3.20 minimum major gpa.(I am currently borderline gpa) I’ve heard of someone at our school who’s done it but was wondering if anyone else has done it before?

I will be asking a Davis counselor this week to confirm it but would also like everyone’s input first.

Why not just take another course?

Actually if you take calc 1 after completing the series, it’s out of sequence so you won’t get unit credit, so I would interpret that to mean the grade won’t factor in. If there’s no units, how can a grade get counted?
