A back door transfer strategy is meaningless if the OP is counting on nonexistent scholarships to make school affordable.
Don’t forget Canadian schools.
Generally speaking, universities are cheaper in Canada and Australia than they are in the US, work permission for students is much more generous than in the US, and work permission after graduation is easier to get than in the US. Spend some time investigating options in those two countries as well.
It doesn’t make sense with 30k you are applying to schools that cost $67k/yr. As you say your grades are not great. There are countless US students looking for merit aid that you are up against with strong grades, not to mention many schools don’t give much or any money to international students. You are limited in your ability to work with a visa and in the U.S. an entry level worker makes realistically no more than $10 an hour and it is taxed. You can’t make up the difference of 37k at $10/hr.
You would have a greater chance for scholarships by applying for fall admissions than you would applying for january admissions. Take your time, do your research.
Need blind is an admissions policy
Meeting 100% demonstrated need is a financial aid policy.
there are schools while need aware for international students that will meet 100% demonstrated need for the students that they accept. Take your time (college is not going anywhere), so that you can present your best grades and scores.
Did you check the link at the top? What is your GPA? What are your SAT/ACT scores?
