Does anyone know about how you would go about taking a quarter off? Could you take classes at a community college to transfer over that quarter?

you literally just go to ursa and request a quarter off. i don't know exactly what it's listed under, but its up there and its like 2 clicks and you're done. i don't know about the second part, you'd have to check with a counselor to see that if it would still be considered dual enrollment if you took the quarter off.

apparently yo can miss up to 2 quarters in a row without any sort of potential issues springing up. I'm taking off a year from UCLA for study abroad; so what i have to do iwhen i get back is write a statement on why i was gone for a year and what i was doing, then they'll let you back into the school (so in a sense you have to reapply).

Look under "Undergraduate Readmission".

Oh yeah, if you're going to be taking classes at a CC, go to www.assist.org
to make sure UCLA will give you credit for taking the classes AND double check with an academic counselor. assist.org may not be up to date in regards to unit transfer policies from a particular CC into UCLA.
