Taking A W

I am probably getting a C or lower in my english class, and was wondering how bad it is to withdraw from it. I can definitely take it later.

This is the only class I have on T, Th and it is just hard going to class at 8 for an english class.

Would it look terrible for me to withdraw from it?

If it is only one class and you are getting a C or lower I would take the W.

take W and dont worry about it, Ws are not as bad as people think.

Agreed. It seems like most people here claim at least one W and still manage to get into great schools. A 'C' is very detrimental to your GPA.

take the W. if you take the C in the course, it will seem like you put forth your best effort... and the assumption will probably be that your best only earned you a C. a W, on the other hand, will be looked upon more favorably because it could be the result of a number of things - schedule conflict, illness, etc. - and you might even be seen as a more responsible, pro-active student.

HOLD ON THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be okay if you are not currently transfering to another college. However, if you are already accepted to another school, then the W can revoke your admission. That was what WUSTL told me.

Yep. Gotta tough it out.

This will depend on the school, some schools such as UCLA do not care.

Get a W... better than C

I'm just gonna take the W, thanks guys

Quick question here

I recently just received acceptance to UCSB.
I'm currently taking 13 units for spring at my ccc, and 4 units belong to Calc 2. Basically i slacked off in that class and im looking to withdraw from that course.
After withdrawing, ill still have enough UC units to transfer (61). Also, Calc 2 is not part of my major. is this going to revoke my admission?

most likely it is not going to revok admission, however you have to contact UCSB and ask for advice, you can not just withdraw.
