I'm in Calculus right now and I just bombed my first test and I'm thinking about taking a W and taking Business Calculus next semester because I'm majoring in Business Administration...with that said how much with this affect my chances at transferring a year from? Is math considered a major course for business?

I think calculus is important for all majors

No, not important for all majors, but certainly for business. If you’re looking at a C or below, take the W and try the course again in the fall.

ok thanks guys, I really wanted to do well in this course but i have so many classes right now and I think its best to just drop and retake it next semester.

I dropped before I got a definite W when I was having trouble. In my spare time I went to MIT OCW, studied from the recommended textbook and video lectures, retook the class and got an A+. I only got through like half the lectures but it was enough to get me a strong start in the class, which was helpful because I suck at math. So if it interests you, you should consider doing that.

Watch these videos on calc. It’s a good alternative to the formal lectures u get at school. THis guy has a Harvard MBA so he’s definitely qualified to teach basic math like Calc. His Calc vids are very informal, but they’re pretty fun to watch and i recommend them to everyone who’s having trouble with calc
