taking adderall

it’s damn near impossible to get caught with adderall in college. it’s such a big part of the culture at top schools that the consequences of getting caught are ignored and the likelihood of getting caught is slim to none.

ooh, it’s illegal. yeah, but like i said, who’s going to enforce it? the kids who get caught are usually the ones who mess around with other drugs, prescription and non-prescription, and were probably going to be caught anyway. the fact that taking a drug without a prescription is illegal isn’t going to stop anyone, especially given the “pressures” of being a premed. that’s not even a good moral argument because i’d say you’re a (insert synonym for cat).

the drug by itself won’t get you the grades. you still have to study and you still have to focus on studying. i’ve heard of people taking the drug and being intensely focused on searching facebook as opposed to studying – it’s not a miracle pill.

I love people who talk about Adderall many of whom don’t know anything about what it does.

So taking a drug which allows you to study for a longer period of time, concentrate & focus is equivalent to full-fledged cheating by hiding notes under the table, looking over a student’s shoulder and seeing their answers and copying. Ok got it. So someone who takes Adderall, did not understand the concepts or study hard? Hopefully you see the faulty logic by now.

So then someone who takes caffeine (which is ALSO a drug) is also cheating? You were “diagnosed” with ADD, which is why you take it. There is no organic lesion with ADD. A doctor assesses you based on clinical presentation, not on a lab test that says you either have ADD or you don’t. Please at least do not spread misinformation. We can be truthful and still get the valid point across.

it is giving an unfair advantage to people who chooe to use it.
some people believe it is immoral, do not want to be involved with drug dealers, and do not want a dependence on it to do well in school.

caffine is readily available at virtually any store. Red bull sometimes drives a car around giving out free red bull; you aren’t going to see your doctor driving around handing out free prescriptions for adderall.

although i seem against its use, i am really considering trying it…

Tons of people abuse adderall and ritalin in college. They are not that difficult to get a hold off without a prescription because everyone has them.
