Taking an extra year? (switching to science)

Hey! I am currently a university student and I was wondering if it was ok to take 5 years to finish a bachelors. In my first year I loaded up on social sciences and took a few science courses, one being core geology. This class however was the only one I took that held my interest and that I would read further into outside of class material. I spent hours after class in the geology lab just to further my own interest in the subject. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to go into geological sciences, specifically paleontology or geochronology. I gave up on this because I became very good at business-like classes like economics(my current major) in high school. This has been killing me all summer. I have the option of repeating first year with the entire science core, working towards a major in geology and a minor in bio. Is this abnormal to take an extra year to finish my bachelors? The way I'm looking at it is if I don't do this I WILL regret this for the rest of my life.

I think 5 years is more than ok. I am on year 6 with 2 to go, lol. You’ll be alright. I also switched from business to science.

Many people take longer than 4 years to graduate. You would not be the only one who has ever made a change like this before.
