I wanted to self study 3 AP courses, but my school will not let me take the exams at my school even if I pay the exam fees. Is there anyway to work around this system? My counselor suggested contacting Collegeboard. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Does anyone have experience on this? I would really like to know.

Yeah, contact them and look for alternate locations to test. The reason that most schools do this, like my school, was because some districts refund testing fees if you get a certain score. At my school, tests are $86 each, but then they refund it if you get a 2 or higher on the AP test.

If you contact collegeboard, they will give you a list of AP testing centers near your area. Just contact one of them to sign up.

Contact CB, tell them what exams you wish to take and then they’ll list the nearest testing venues for all those exams.
