Hey there CC, freshiefish here,
My high school is a bit new, and we (unfortunately) do not have the same amount of AP classes as the many advanced high schools around us I found out next year, my high school was planning on adding AP Human Geo for mainly freshmen to take as their first ‘introductory’ AP Class. I do want to take the course, and since my schedule for the next four years are pretty jam packed, should I take it over the summer, online? I heard it was easy, and my high school is pretty lenient about credits, as it is pretty new, so as long as I take online, and get a grade for it, it should count on my transcript. Do you guys know any good, accredited websites to take the course? (Preferably free…!) Should I do it?
Im currently taking APHUG online and it is going very smoothly. The class is pretty easy and a great first AP. My situation is a little different because I am taking the class online as a period at my school. Since my school doesnt offer the class in person, I can take it virtually and they give me a period in the day to work on it like a normal class. Im using North Carolina Virtual Public School to take it. I’m not sure if you can use that if you arent in North Carolina, but it doesnt hurt to check it out.
Thanks! Are you doing it as a year long class, or does it go over everything in like 3 months? I think the online schools I’m looking at go over everything in like 3 months, but idk… haha
No online schools will be free unless you have a state online school. However, thankfully, most states do have online schools
If you’ve found out there are no public online schools in your area, try Florida Virtual. They’re great. Again, not free, but great.
The above post may be true.
Although, some state schools aren’t free. At NJ Virtual School (my state), classes are $650.
If you’re low-income, your school may pay for it. (My boyfriend’s high school does this with Apex).
