Hello! My junior year of high school I took AP Photography. Most people take the class as a senior, but I was ahead since I started photography as a freshman instead of a sophomore. Would it be a bad idea to take AP Photo again as a senior, even if my school labels it on my transcript as "AP Photography II"? I would be the first person to do AP Photo II since nobody else has ever done AP Photo as a junior. I didn't do as well on the AP Test as I would have hoped, and I would love to try again and continue photography my senior year. But, will colleges look down on me for taking "AP Photo I" my junior year, and "AP Photo II" my senior year?

My guess is that it is fine from a college admissions perspective, but it really depends on the context of your schedule as a whole.

Since when is there an AP Photography course? The College Board lists no such course, or I’m losing my mind.

@MrMom62 AP Studio Art 2D. Students have an array of media from which to choose.

Thank you. I thought that might the the answer.

Rather than list it as a non-standard name like AP Photography II, wouldn’t it be a better idea if your school listed it as Independant Study - Photography, along with a description of what you did? Rebranding or appropriating the AP name is confusing at best and detrimental in the eyes of some colleges at worst. I see no problem doing it, just don’t create a new AP course where none exists.
