Has anyone done that before. I'm scheduled for an ap test in may and i'm signing up for the SAT in may as well. Is this a bad idea?

I did that. The SAT was the Saturday after 2 of my AP exams. It’s not too bad.

Take an SAT practice test each weekend for the few weeks preceding. Then take one the Friday before. You should do fine.

I got 5s on my AP exams and my SAT was in the ballpark of my practice exams, although when I took it later in the fall of senior year I improved the score still.

I did this last year. If you are prepared, it shouldn’t be a big deal. It worked out great for US History (AP Friday and SAT Saturday). Just don’t let yourself stay up Friday night because you just started preparing for the SAT stuff then - plan ahead.

Take SAT subject tests in the same subjects as your AP tests instead of the regular SAT! Then you can study for both at once.

I agree with thunder1. Take your SAT IIs in the same month as your APs. I think most people do this, actually-- my APUSH teacher strongly encouraged it, and at my testing site for the US History SAT II literally every single person had taken the AP the day before. We even discussed the DBQ together, haha.

Then you can take the regular SAT in June, if you’d like. Or really any other month (February, March, etc)
