So it's my junior year and I'm taking normal US History (the only option other than APUSH at my school). So far I've done extremely well with an A+ and around a 100 in the class, and I've really enjoyed learning about US history. I originally decided not to take APUSH due to the other difficult and time-consuming AP and advanced classes that I'm taking this year, as well as important extra-curricular activities, and frankly my sanity, but now I'm considering preparing for and taking the APUSH exam on my own. Is this a good idea and is there any hope of me doing well? And will it be of any significance on a college application if I haven't taken the class? Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to books I can use to study for it, keeping in mind that I won't exactly have time to read a 1000 page textbook, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys :)

That was asked yesterday. I think the answers apply to your situation as well.
