Taking Bets

Cloture or Filibuster at 5pm?

I bet filibuster

$100 on cloture for sure (no idea what bearcats is talking about, as usual…)

its probably some politics crap lol.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Even better, a bipartisan filibuster… thank you ben nelson

yosup, when can i collect my $100?

That’s what he’s referring to. Yosup “bet” on them actually voting, and I’m pretty sure y’all know what a filibuster is by now.

hey bearcats, i’ll give you 100…

100 KNUCLE SANDWICHESSS!

^ If we don’t stop printing money, USD will be worth as much as knuckle sandwiches :p

Kinda curious what the change in money base every year is within the US.

^Something like ►GDP*inflation…? That triangle thing is as close as I can get to delta.

I guess that assumes that prices adjust immediately, and that’s why that’s false, or what?

Filibustering is getting ridiculous. They should go back to actually having to filibuster instead of just saying they’re going to filibuster and not have to do it.

“Uhh… Filibuster!” - Charlie (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). So funny. Anyone?

▲

adfawe

giants, what are you talking about? They did filibuster yesterday, with a nay vote from a democrat Ben Nelson siding with them to boot… which is great because now Republicans can go around touting bipartisan opposition to a crap bill

what is a fillibuster?

lol @ a Ross student not knowing what a filibuster is

Same Result again today :)))))))))))))))))))

Bearcats, I am curious, where do you get your news from? CNN? Fox?

^Uh are you serious, definitely Fox.

The filibuster is supposed to mean “the right to unlimited debate”. Filibustering = debating/talking/delaying is supposed to block cloture until “debate” comes to an end. These days the opposition doesn’t actually have to filibuster, they only say they’re going to filibuster. So I’ll repeat my statement: They should go back to actually having to filibuster instead of just saying they’re going to filibuster and not have to do it – because I’m sick of this Republican filibuster nonsense. And it was hardly a bipartisan vote; only one Democrat, Ben Nelson, actually defected. Reid switched his yes vote to a no vote for procedural purposes. If the majority leader does so, he is allowed to reintroduce the bill later. So touting that doesn’t hold much weight.

“I’m sick of this Republican filibuster nonsense.”
Oh yes… Libs have such short memory…what did you guys do to G-Dub’s judicial nominees?

"And it was hardly a bipartisan vote; only one Democrat, Ben Nelson, actually defected. "
Libs and the liberal media touted the one vote from grassley for the lincoln bill bi-partisan support…so just returning the favor

btw although not as bad as CNN or MSNBC, Fox still sucks. I just glance Bloomberg - Are you a robot? every day… If I am interested in a topic I would just google news results… but not really the type of person who follows news that has nothing to do with me…

Bearcats, do not give me that bull****. Didn’t take too long to find evidence to support “Republican filibuster nonsense”:

I do not support the lincoln-bill being touted as bi-partisan either. I do not blindly fall into line with viewpoints/proclamations of the party with which I normally agree.

Giants. The reason I asked was because I wanted to know if Bearcats just sits around reading biased information all day. I didn’t want to stereotype him just because he is a conservative. I just wanted to know where he gets his information.
