Taking BILD 1 for summer but not sure

<p>I am taking bild 1 in the summer right now, but I am unsure if I should continue taking it or not. It seems like the professor is not teaching that well (taking everything too basic), and im afraid that if i stay in the course, i will fall behind when i take upper-division bio classes (i am biochem major btw). Do upper div bio classes use material from bild 1 a lot (such as biochem or genetics, I know we go over the intro in bild 1, but how much material is actually used for upper-div bio classes?) I am thinking about dropping and retaking the class in the fall so i could get a solid foundation down, but i don't want all that money that i paid per unit to be wasted. Any ideas on what i should do? :/</p>

<p>College isn’t so much about the professor spoon-feeding you information as it is your chance to dictate what/when/how much you learn. If you stick by the textbook and learn everything in there, you’ll be more than prepared for both your class as well as future upper-division bio classes. There’s really not that much you need to take away from the BILD series. A good number of folks start off their UD classes with no biology since high school (sometimes 4 years after their last bio class), and they do perfectly fine.</p>
