Taking Both SAT and ACT: Choice?

My son, a junior, took his first SAT (new version) on March 5 and his first ACT on April 9. While his New SAT score has yet to come out, his ACT score just came out today with 33 composite. He thinks he did much better with New SAT, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

He’s registered to take another New SAT on May 7 and will register to take another ACT in September.

The question I have is: if you take both SAT and ACT (and my son’s planning on taking all together just two each and superscore them), do you have to report both SAT and ACT test results to all colleges you apply to, or can you choose to only report whichever (SAT or ACT) is the better result. Say, my son’s New SAT score result is much better than his ACT score, can he then report his SAT score only and ignore his ACT scores? Or, do colleges demand to see both?

I was wondering the same thing… Hopefully someone knows the answer.
