Taking Calc 1 + Physics 1 and Lab + Statistics same semester?

I was just wondering if taking three of those classes during the same semester would be okay. You need Calculus 1 in order to take Physics 1, but the school allows us to take the two concurrently.

Do you need to take Statistics? For Eng majors, taking physics and calc at the same time is normal.

At many schools, the typical sequence for non-advanced engineering majors is:

Semester 1: Calculus 1
Semester 2: Calculus 2, Physics 1 (including mechanics)
Semester 3: Calculus 3 (multivariable), Physics 2 (including E&M)

because physics for engineering majors depends on calculus (i.e. Physics 1 has Calculus 1 as a prerequisite).

More advanced students who start in Calculus 2 or higher math course (due to AP or other credit for Calculus 1 or more) may start Physics 1 in their first semester.

That is pretty normal.

Normal for STEM.

OP, you said you got an A in Calc I your second semester, so why are you retaking Calc I? Calc II, maybe?

If it works with your schedule, I’d recommend taking Physics I after you take Calc I. At least if you’re studying something where Physics is important. You’ll get more out of it and understand the formulae more.
