So I'll be a senior next year. I took Calc BC as a junior (got a 5 :D)
I have three choices for my math class next year
1. Calc 3 at UofM (Ann Arbor)
2. Calc 3 at community college
3. Just take AP Stats in high school

Which class should I take? The class at UofM is apparently very challenging. Does taking Calc 3 look good for college? Does it matter where you take it?

Assuming it’s not too costly, I’d recommend option 1.

You seem to have a niche for math, continue to calculus 3. Personally, taking calculus 3 looks really good anyway, it doesn’t matter where you take it.

Okay so taking it at the community college costs $384. Taking it at UofM costs a little over $2400 (quite a lot). Is the higher cost worth it to take Calc 3 at UofM? Or should I just take it at WCC or take AP Stats in high school?

Take it at the CC…or see if there is an online option. My S had that situation as a rising Jr. He was told by the GC and VP that taking AP Stats would not look good. I don’t know if that is true or not, that is the advise he got. I am surprised the school will not fund the course for you. We are in MD and the school provides classes if you have exhausted what is offered.

I believe that my school will pay for a little of the cost (like a couple hundred) but in Michigan education funds were cut by the new governor. Okay I guess I’ll take it at the community college.
