For reasons of convenience and affordability, I am taking a course online this summer, specifically Chemistry. My school won't give me a credit for it. But if I send colleges the transcript for the online course, does it still count for something even though I didn't earn a credit for it? (I'll still have enough credits to graduate though)

I hope this doesn't sound too confusing. Let me know if you want me to rephrase the question.

So basically, your high school won’t give you credit for it, but you’re wondering if whatever college you attend will give you academic credit you can transfer in?

No, you’re right that my school won’t give me credit, but I’m wondering if colleges will take into consideration that I took Chemistry, even though I didn’t get a credit for it. Like I want to know if they’ll count the course as taking Chemistry and learning the material, even though my high school didn’t actually give me a credit for it.

Yes they do. My school doesn’t take credits from outside, but i asked my counselor and he said i could take classes online and just send the transcript to the college.

Just make sure the online classes is accredited
