Does anyone know if it would increase chances of transfers to HY-type places if in addition to a strong cc transcript you had like 15 credits or something like that done part time at a 4 year school with like 300-400 level classes in your desired major? The school would be Syracuse University, which is leaps and bounds better than any cc.

Why are you at CC if you are also a student at Syracuse? Is it the cost? I don't understand your situation so I don't know how to evaluate it.

I think he is at a CC, but is taking continuing education or extra classes at Syracuse, and from the sounds of it, he is doing really well. This is a smart move to get ahead of the other CC students.

I guess the CC part is what confuses me. Seems he was qualified for Syracuse. I guess people make all sorts of arrangements for strategy.

the classes at SU are through the continuing education program. there is a part-time program for both matriculated and non-matriculated students (the course I took was as a non-matriculated because my h/s gpa is not the most impressive). they are exactly the same except matriculated students can get financial aid and evenually earn a degree.

You couldn't take continuing ed as a non-degree seeking student? Wow what a kick to you. Did you end up somewhere later?

daymnnnnnnnnnnn double legacy..... and professor there for 40 years.... man you have to pick up your grades and go there or something so you can triple legacy your kids

hahah, i think i am a quadraple legacy now that i think about it, if you include grad schools. my mom is BFA, my dad MPA (does grad=legacy), grandpa J.D. (and I think BA there though not sure) and my grandma is B.A. there. heh. i didn't apply though, they said don't both if unweighted is under 80.

hazmat, i didn't apply to SU because my H/S unweighted is 76%. I'm at CC now though I took one class at SU. I'm thinking about taking more but it's really really expensive. i'm not interested in transfering there or getting a degree, just trying to make my transcript more competetive at colleges that take few cc students.
