Hey guys I was wondering how would it work if i were going to my current community college and I wanted to transfer to a UCI but their requirement is that I take Class1A, 1B, 1C but instead of taking that at my current CC can I take it at another one? Its sort of confusing to explain but an example would be that at my CC they require 4 different classes inorder to articulate with with 2 of UCI's courses. Instead of doing that, I want to take the series at this other CC because it would only take 3 quarters instead to finish instead.

As long as they articulate for the same course requirements on ASSIST.org, you’re fine. On the UC application you can list multiple CCs and input your grades from all of them. For example, my application had 5 different CCs on it. Some of my pre-req sequences I took at different CCs, for example I took one semester of general chem at one and the second semester at another and they met the equivalent of the year long chem sequence at all of the UCs. I had absolutely no problems because I checked on ASSIST.org and even double-checked with admissions. You’re not obligated to take all of your classes at one CC. In fact, because of the budget situation and the fact that many CCs don’t offer every pre-req to every major, it’s become more and more common for applicants to apply having attend multiple CCs and UC’s expect that. One word of warning though, if you split a sequence between CCs I would double check with admissions, there could be complications if their curriculum is different or if the two CCs are on different yearly systems – one on the quarter system and one on the semester system. If you’re taking a full sequence at a different CC and it’s listed on ASSIST.org you shouldn’t have any problems.
