as an econ major, it would probably be in my best interest to take some accounting courses to strengthen my competence in future careers such as finance/banking, but i know that ucd itself does not offer accounting courses, but its extension program does. so will the accounting courses at the extension count towards the units i need for graduation, and also will the grades i receive in them factor towards my ucd gpa? so basically, would they be considered the same as a ucd course, or be treated as a course from another school? also, can anyone just sign up for those extension courses or do only people with priority get them?

Extension courses are tricky. Although offered as part of a UC Davis program they are courses that are treated like a separate University from the regular Undergraduate program. University Extension courses are available to anyone who wishes to enroll; current students are not given priority for Extension courses as far as I'm aware of. Most likely the accounting courses will not be UC transferable although it is best to submit your transcripts after completing the course so we can do a full evaluation to determine course transferability.
