Taking classes at Wharton?

Like most people on this thread, I’m in love with Wharton (I used to dream of MIT for its dominance in business and engineering)

I recently learnt that students at Penn CAS are able to take classes from Wharton and vice versa.

Then I ask, what is the point in applying to different branches (Wharton, CAS, SEAS) if you’re allowed to take classes from all schools?

and does this imply that a Penn CAS student is able to earn a undergrad degree at Wharton as well as CAS?

The number of inter-school courses you can take is, I think, limited to four. So, that's the reason why you apply to respective schools. In addition to applying to an individual school, there are joint-degree programs in which you apply to two schools and earn two degrees upon graduating, one from each school [The joint-degrees include: Huntsman: Intl. Studies(CAS)/Business(Wharton), Jerome Fisher: Management(Wharton)/Technology(SEAS), Nursing(Nursing)/Management(Wharton), and Vagelos: Life Sciences(CAS)/Management(Wharton)]

What exactly is Wharton?

I understand it is the "business" undergraduate section of Upenn, but I have never fully understood what the difference is? Can you take the same majors no matter which college you go to? Would you ever consider going to Wharton if you are not planning to master in business? And, are there any other undergraduate schools like Wharton?

;), I know I probably sound like a newb, but any help is greatly appreicated.
