Taking classes elsewhere as a "transient"

My daughter plans to start in the Innovation Academy in January. In the fall, she would like to take classes at a local university, FIU. According to FIU, she can take up to 15 credits as a transient student coming from UF. She would be taking basic freshman classes which have no prerequisites. She'd rather do this than take online classes through UF because it would feel more like starting college.

The questions I had were:

Would she be considered to be "coming from" UF when she has not yet taken any classes at UF. She has paid her deposit at UF, and obviously plans to attend UF, and before she attends any classes at FIU, she will have attended the summer IA orientation. Is that enough? It says she needs to speak with her advisor at her home school (UF). Will she have one by then?

Whom would I speak with about this at UF?

I think all of your questions can be answered once you attend Preview. Although my son started last year summer B, I specifically remember IA students meeting with advisors too.

At preview your daughter will meet with advisors and other IA students. They separate from the parents so these might be questions she should ask. You have legitimate questions so lets assume they will be addressed when she does her UF scheduling.

Also, consider only part time at FIU then maybe she can work or get an internship somewhere. Good luck she will love uf

Yeah, she’s going to take her math class and probably one other class. She stinks at math, so taking JUST math (and one other class that would be easy for her, such as Earth Science) sounds appealing to her. She actually knows exactly what she wants to take. She checked the required courses for her major. So she just has to get it rubber stamped by someone at UF.
