Taking classes in ILR

As a student in CAS, how easy would it be to take courses in ILR? Is there any limit to the level of the courses we're allowed to take?

You can def take classes in ILR. Some classes are cross-listed as ILR/CAS anyway. In regards to a limit on the class “level”-- more advanced classes obviously have pre-prequisties and if they don’t they require approval from the professor (which isn’t hard to acquire).

you must take 100credits in CAS

Thanks! Yeah, I know about the 100 credit requirement in CAS. It’s just that I’m contemplating business school now, so I thought that, if I do go down that route, taking some classes at ILR might be beneficial.

It would also be easy to take classes in AEM, right? I’m not quite sure whether I’d prefer ILR or AEM…I definitely want a liberal arts background (psych/English major, perhaps), but I’d also like to get a feel for some business courses before I decide that an MBA is right for me. If it matters, I’m leaning towards human resources…I know that ILR has an HR department, but I don’t necessarily want to concentrate on HR right away, and AEM seems to have more basic business courses.

you should also consider hotel courses…

which are probably lighter than ilr or aem courses but more hands on/group work…

thanks, resurgambell, I’ll look into those too!

ILR, Hotel, AEM, and PAM all offer business related classes. A bunch of them are cross listed. The most common being “financial accounting”.

Oh, I forgot about PAM! Thank you. Is there a list that shows classes that are cross-listed between CAS and other colleges, or do I need to search by department?
