If I get admitted to SEAS, can I take business classes in wharton? or is it necessary to join the M&T program?
You do not need to join M&T to take classes at Wharton.
I mean can I wanna get a converged field of business and SEAS…Is it possible by getting admission in SEAS?
@heydudekid You can take as many Wharton classes as you want (can fit into your schedule) as a SEAS student, and get involved in research projects of Wharton professors. If you want to get a degree from Wharton too then you either need to be in M&T or apply to pursue an uncoordinated dual degree between SEAS and Wharton.
Just to add on to what @penn95 very accurately stated-- you must apply to M&T before you are a freshman but you can apply for an uncoordinated dual degree program after you’ve been admitted to and you’ve matriculated at SEAS.
Actually, you can apply for transferring into M&T after freshman year.
But I can take economics as my minor, right?
@heydudekid you can either do a second major in economics or a minor in economics as a SEAS student. When I say Economics I mean the actual Economics degree offered by CAS ( BA in Economics). The Wharton degree is business degree not an economics degree even though it is officially called a BS in Economics. The only minor offered by Wharton is statistics I think.
@penn95 “The only minor offered by Wharton is statistics I think.”
That is correct. You can get an econ major or minor in CAS. You can get a stat minor in Wharton. As others have said, you can take as many courses as you want in Wharton, but will not get a business degree unless you apply and are accepted.
