How convenient is it to take classes at MIT? And, does anyone know how difficult it is to get into the double-degree program?

First years are not allowed to take classes at MIT until their second semester. It is very doable, and a lot of students do it. However, the thing to keep in mind is time. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get to MIT, and the bus leaves every hour on the hour from Wellesley. Factoring in class time and commute time, you must have free afternoons in order to take classes at MIT. It'll be hard for students who have an on-campus job (like me) to take a class there. But as I said, it's very doable and people enjoy the experience. As for the double-degree program, I'm afraid I can't help you there because I don't know anything about it.
